STOVE MAINTENANCE
1. Make a rule to clean up stove spills as soon as they occur. The
longer a spill remains on the stove, the more difficult it becomes
to remove from the stove. A good organic stove cleaner, such as
Simple Green, and water is recommended. Never use as abrasive cleaner.
2. Burned or heavily stained areas on the burner or reflective surfaces
under the stove burners may be cleaned with Bon Ami I Use the bar,
not the powder_
CAUTION: REMEMBER YOUR STOVE IS CHARGED WITH 220 VOLTS OF
ELECTRICITY. THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO KILL YOU, PULL THE BIG
PLUG IN THE BACK FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO CLEAN
AROUND THE STOVE BURNERS OR OTHER HEATING ELEMENTS OR DO ANY STOVE
REPAIR WORK.
The decision whether to buy a gas or electric stove is up to the
cook. The case in favor of gas stove is that gas cooking is about
one third the price of electric cooking. Gas burners give instant
heat and good cooks tell me they can fine tune gas stove top heat
level to a far greater degree than with an electric stove.
Many of the problems which occur on gas stoves can be directly
attributable to dirt. Grease and food spills on the stove can cause
plugged and misaligned stove burner flames. So clean up spills immediately.
DAILY:
1. Clean stove top with a 10 to 1 solution of water and an organic
cleaner like Simple Green®, Breeze or Clear Magic @.
EVERY SIX MONTHS:
1. Remove all the parts from the top of the stove and wash them
in a soap and very hot water solution. Let them soak a little while.
Clean out the holes on the burners with a pin. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
